Article summary

Description

An Ushur variable is a variable that temporarily stores data within a single Ushur engagement. Unlike System and Enterprise variables, Ushur variables can only be accessed from within the Ushur they are defined in. Ushur variables also don’t permanently store data — their values are erased after an engagement has ended.

Note

You can use the Store module to write the values stored in Ushur variables into the metadata table.

Creating Ushur Variables

To define Ushur variables, first, go to the appropriate Ushur. Next, click on the </> Variables tab in the Ushur Builder.

Fill out the following fields then click Add Variable:

  • Variable Name: Name of variable (no spaces allowed)

  • Description: Describe the function and purpose of a variable.

  • Data Type: Select the data type that this variable stores from a dropdown list.

Accessing Ushur Variables

To access a Ushur variable within a module, type the @ symbol which will prompt a dropdown menu for you to select from. Scroll down to the Ushur variables and select the intended variable.

Note

Ushur variables are shown in BLUE
