Operational Notifications

Overview

The Operational Notification feature in Ushur brings real-time email alerts to citizen developers, informing them about limited product features on the platform. This functionality ensures timely notifications during ongoing operations and provides Citizen Developers with the flexibility to configure and receive these alerts according to their preferences.

The following event categories can be enabled for the citizen developers based on their role policy by the IT administrator:

  • Workflow Management

  • DataTable Bulk Upload

  • DataTable Management

  • Channel-SMS

  • Channel-Email

This feature can trigger email notifications to multiple citizen developers who have similar role policies and subscribed to the same event.

Configure Notifications - Role Policy (User Admin)

For User Admins to configure the operational notifications for a specific user based on their role policy, follow these steps:

  1. To add a new user, refer to Add New User.

  2. Navigate to Dashboard > User Admin.

  3. In the Roles pane, select the appropriate cloned role, and click Edit Role.

    Note

    The Edit Role option is available only for the cloned roles and not for the default roles that are AdminUser, SuperUser, and NormalUser and the operational notifications will not be triggered to these default roles.

  4. Navigate to Notification policy, and click Modify.

  5. From the Modify Policy dialog box, the below-mentioned categories will be displayed:

    • Workflow Management

      • Module added in Workflow, Module updated in workflow, and Module deleted in workflow options are disabled by default.

    • DataTable Bulk Upload

    • DataTable Management

    • Channel-SMS

    • Channel-Email

  6. Click the applicable category to display the associated events.

  7. Use the toggle :toggle: button to enable or disable the notification on a specific event under a category.

  8. Click the E-mail icon on the event to enable or disable the email notification.

  9. Click the Label icon to set the event as the primary or informational event.

  10. Click the More icon on the specific event under a category to display the following options:

    Parameter

    Description

    Turn on/off notification

    Enable or disable notifications for the specified event.

    Set as Primary/Informational

    This option configures the event as the primary/informational event and the event-triggered information will be displayed in the Primary/Informational tab under the notification icon.

    Note

    This option is not available in the current release and will be available in a future release.

    Opt-out Email Notifications

    This option enables the user to opt out of email notification.

    Reset to Default

    This option resets the configuration to the system default.

  11. To configure all the categories, click the More icon on the category to display the following options:

    Parameter

    Description

    Turn on/off all notifications

    Enables or disables all notifications across all categories.

    Set all as Primary/Informational

    This option configures all the events as the primary or informational events and the event-triggered information will be displayed in the Primary/Informational tab under the notification icon.

    Note: This option is not available in the current release and will be available in a future release.

    Opt out of all Email notifications

    This option enables the user to opt out of email notifications from all the events.

    Reset to system default

    This option resets the configuration to the system default.

  12. Use the search bar to search for the applicable event.

  13. Click the More icon adjacent to the search bar and select the Reset to policy default to reset the configuration to the system default settings.


Configure Notifications - User Policy (Citizen Developers)

For Citizen Developers to configure the operational notifications, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to Dashboard > Settings > Notifications.

  2. In the Notifications tab, the below-mentioned categories will be displayed based on the role policy:

    • Workflow Management

      • Module added in Workflow, Module updated in workflow, and Module deleted in workflow options are disabled by default.

    • DataTable Bulk Upload

    • DataTable Management

    • Channel-SMS

    • Channel-Email

  3. Click the applicable category to display the associated events.

  4. Use the toggle :toggle: button to enable or disable the notification on a specific event under a category.

  5. Click the E-mail icon on the event to enable or disable the email notification.

  6. Click the Label icon to set the event as the primary event or informational event.
