The virtual number is a phone number used to send and receive SMS text messages to and from mobile phones. This is either a long code or a 5–6-digit short code.
Customers can start an engagement by texting a registered #UshurTag to this virtual number.
Alternatively, you or your backend system can start the engagement by pushing a message to the customer using this number. The virtual number is what the customer sees on their mobile device.
Note
Ushur will set up a long code virtual number automatically during the onboarding process, whereas the short code is an additional request. If you are interested in having a dedicated short code, speak with your CSM. Using shortcodes is a best practice, especially for pull campaigns where the customer would be initiating the engagement, making it easier on them since there are fewer digits to type.
Settings
The virtual number can be configured in the settings tab of the ushur.
