Article summary

A virtual number is a number that the Ushur workflow uses to send text messages/notifications to the intended destination. Virtual numbers are what appear on end users’ (customers) mobile devices.

View and Change of Virtual Number

To change the virtual number:

  1. Open the workflow (Ushur) you would like to change its virtual number.

  2. Click on the “Settings” tab (depending on your access level this option may not be accessible to some users).

  3. Clicking on the arrows in the Virtual Number section will open up a drop-down menu with all virtual numbers listed (Ushur should not be in active mode for the drop-down to appear).

Select the number of your choice.

  4. A window will pop up asking “Are you sure you want to change your virtual number?”, click “Yes, change virtual number.”, and you are all set.

Additional Information

  • The window that pops up mentions that if you change your virtual number you will lose any phrases associated with that particular number. This is referring to the hashtag (# keyword) that you may have associated with this Ushur, such as “#NewClaim” which customers can text to said virtual number to begin an engagement. Since all tags are associated with virtual numbers, if you choose to change this, it means these tags will be removed and you will have to go back in and add these tags (simply go to the “ Pull” tab to set them up again).

  • If you need to change to a different virtual number for all of your workflows and you have many, you can reach out to your customer success manager who can have them changed for you so you don’t have to take the time to update each one.

  • Although uncommon, you do have the ability to use more than one virtual number(s) setup for different campaigns. By doing so customers who are engaging with both campaigns would interact using different numbers, hence avoiding confusion. Most customers use one virtual number.
